Impromptu Concert Sunday

Brother and sister classical musicians Misha and Sonya Ovrutsky will perform this Sunday afternoon, Jan. 9, at 4 p.m. at St. Paul's Church. The performance is part of the popular Impromptu Concert series.

Last year, they performed here with their flutist father, Ilya Ovrutsky. Misha recently won first prize at a violin competition in Pamplona, Spain and was awarded the permanent use of a rare violin which will be used at Sunday's concert. He has also recently soloed with the orchestra of Athens, Greece and is scheduled to play with the St. Petersburg Symphony in Russia.

Sister Sonya recently completed her Masters Degree at the prestigious Julliard School of Music and was recognized as the best accompanist in Pamplona, Spain. In April of this year, Sonya will perform solo at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

A reception of light hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be offered immediately following the concert, hosted by Beth Harrell, owner of Bagatelle Restaurant at 115 Duval St.
