Jones Show At Gingerbread

Scott Jones will be presenting his latest collection of new works at Gingerbread Square Gallery. The show opens this Monday, April 3, with a reception 6:30-9 p.m.

The theme of the show, which continues through April 10, is "New Beginnings."

Scenes of Nightlife in Venice will be one of the highlights.

Jones says, "several years ago I painted cafe scenes from famous places in Venice. Now I want to capture the mood of the architecture. I am captivated by the Moorish Gothic houses, narrow as the jealous eyes of Othello, standing directly on the canals."

There will also be scenes of LaRochelle, France, a beautiful town in western France that he visited for his 40th birthday.

Of course, there will also be the grand and whimsical opera scenes, for which Jones has become well known, complete with divas singing their hearts out. Scott has added a new twist to the divas by expanding them into jazz and fairytales.

Scott Jones has created over 30 one-person exhibitions during the past 12 years and has participated in over 50 group shows and juried exhibitions.

The gallery is located uptown at 1207 Duval St.
