"Blues Brothers" Tops Hot Week Of Music At Green Parrot

It's going to be a great music week at the Green Parrot, starting tonight, Friday, March 29, with the Downchild Blues Band— the original Blues Brothers. Do you think that Dan Akroyd invented the Blues Brothers for a movie? Wrong. He was inspired by this very band during his early years in Toronto. Now, you can see and hear the real thing. The music starts at 10.

Chicago-born and Austin-groomed harmonica blues-man Gary Primich returns to the Parrot this Saturday and Sunday, March 30-31, 10-2 on Saturday with a special OFT (Old Fogies Time) on Sunday at 8:30.

On Monday night, April 1, for one night only, the Parrot is bringing in the horn-powered rock `n roll jazz party meisters, the Countdown Quartet, 10-2. Jazztime Magazine calls this group's music "smash-mouth jazz with an R&B chaser."

And, finally, this Wednesday and Thursday, April 3-4, Billy Bacon & the Forbidden Pigs reclaim the stage at the Parrot. Just how much swine-jive can you take? Dress to swill, then go to the Parrot and find out.

Funky Beans Back At Schooner Wharf

WHY NOT SAY IT LIKE IT IS? The Funky Beans may be the best band in Key West. Nuff said? They're at the Schooner Wharf Bar tonight and tomorrow night, March 29-30, 7-Midnight.
