For those who dig music and like to party down, the great thing about Yachting Key West Race Week ain't the racesit's the music and the parties!
The fun starts tonight, Friday Jan. 12. The Oysters Fantastic Band is back at the Schooner Wharf Bar both tonight and tomorrow night, 7-midnight. The Oysters are like an unplugged concert of all your favorite bands.
At the Bull, catch The Gypsy Rose tonight, 9-2, and the popular Zack Seemiller Band tomorrow night, 9-2.
And whoever books the music at the Green Parrot has outdone themselves this week. Randy McAllister, named the best blue harmonica player in Texas, hits the stage tonight, Friday, at 10. More blues tomorrow night: Junior Drinkwater and the Thirstquenchers.
But it will be cookin' at the Parrot on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, too. The Waco Brothers will be in the house on Tuesday, Jan 16, 10-2. Vicki Roush says this may be the best rock band on the planet. The Waco Brothers' opening act is Sally Timms.
Blues guitarist Scott Ellison will be at the Parrot Wednesday, Jan. 17.
The Christopher Dean blues Band is on stage at the Schooner Wharf both Monday and Tuesday, 7-11. Guitarist Eric Culberson and the Ewok Band is at the Schooner Wharf on Thursday, 7-11.
Saturday will also be a special fun night at Blue Heaven, down in Bahama Village at Petronia at Thomas. The Survivors, one of Key West's all-time favorite bands, are reuniting once again to rock the house, 8-12. Tickets are $15 at the door. Proceeds benefit Womankind, a non-profit healthcare organization for women.
