The Strangeways and The Grandmothers Rock The Parrot This Weekend

THE GRANDMOTHERS, featuring three former members of The Mothers Of Invention, will bring their jazz/rock to the Green Parrot Bar this Monday night, Sept. 4, 10-2. Tonight and tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 1-2, The ska/reggae of The Strangeways will be featured at the Parrot next Friday



Lady A and Caffeine Carl At Schooner Wharf

SOME OF THE HOTTEST BLUES IN TOWN— Caffeine Carl & The Funky Beans (above) will be at the famous Schooner Wharf Bar tomorrow night, Saturday, Sept. 2, 7 'til Midnight. Tonight, Friday, Sept. 1, the popular Lady "A" Blues Band comes back to the Wharf, 7-Midnight.



Blues On the Base Next Friday

The Naval Air Station's Sunset Lounge will sponsor a free blues concert next Friday, Sept. 8, at Sigsbee Park, 7-10 p.m. This event was originally scheduled for Aug. 25, but was cancelled because of the threat of Hurricane Debby. Featured performers include Sean Chambers and Hubert Sumlin. The concert is open to the public. Gates open to the public at 5 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, but leave your coolers at home. Bingo at the 801 Bourbon every Sunday through Oct. 15 to benefit all candidates.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 4

King candidate Ralph Garcia appears on the LaLa Belle Show on Channel 5, 6:30 p.m.
