Key West police arrested a Big Coppitt Key man for aggravated assault after he allegedly showed his estranged wife the outline of a gun in his pocket.
the couple had met at Key West's Bayview Park at around noon to discuss their impending divorce. During an argument, James Yaccarino, 27, reportedly put his hand in his pocket so his estranged wife could see the outline of a gun. She reportedly said she had to leave. She said he told her she would be sorry if she did. She replied, "What are you going to do? Shoot me? Leave our son without a mother?" He said their child would not have a mother or father after today, the woman told police.
Fearing for her life, she quickly got into her car and drove away. Officers found him at his father's Key West home. At gunpoint, they made Yaccarino lie down on the ground until they could be certain he was unarmed. they arrested him for aggravated assault domestic. Officers took Yaccarino to jail under a suicide watch.
