Is Baby On the Way To Bigtime?

DEBUTS NEW SINGLE HERE TOMORROW

Baby Tracy, who has been the lead singer with the Fabulous Spectrelles for 16 years, may be on the verge of hitting it big. She will be performing "Caught in the Act," her first solo dance single before top recording executives in Miami at the end of this month.

The song, written by legendary songwriters Bob Esty and Paul Jabara, was originally intended to be sung by the Pointer Sisters. But it was never released.

But when Esty heard Baby Tracy perform with the Spectrelles, he recruited her to record the song. Esty, who comes to Key West often, is known for such hits as "Last Dance" for Donna Summer, "Take Me Home" for Cher, and "Fight" for Barbara Streisand.

Want a preview of Baby Tracy's record? She will debut it at the Copa tomorrow night, March 18, at midnight.

Big Weekend At the Parrot

The Green Parrot is going all out for Spring Break. Tonight, Friday, March 17, Mississippi bluesman Lonnie Shields brings his fiery guitar and swoonful vocals to the Green Parrot stage, 10-2.

Tomorrow night, Sat., March 18, the popular Underdogs will be at the Parrot, 10-2. According to one reviewer: "Many of their tunes are made for GTO top-down cruisin'' or butt-struttin' funky chicken dance action. The Dog version of Heartbreak Hotel is so good, you forget about the other guy who made it famous."

Something different on Sunday: Lost and Found, one of the country's top bluegrass bands will be on stage at 9.

Come and help Patrick celebrate his birthday on Mon., March 20 at 10. Music by some special and strange musical guests.
