The City's Second Annual Children}s Holiday Festival is set for Bayview Park on Sunday, Dec. 11. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, along with live music, games and booths selling crafts and special food items.

Booths are $50. No charge for non-profit organizations. Deadline to sign up is Nov. 24.
The Tenth Annual Hospitality Expo happens today, Friday, Nov. 12, at the Holiday Inn Beachside Convention Center. The show opens at Noon. The event is open to the public, 4-6 p.m. The purpose of the event is to give restaurant and bar owners and resort, hotel and motel managers an opportunity to learn about new products. Organizers say this show has been a success since it started in 1990. Last year, the Expo attracted 1000 visitors
Key West City Manager Julio Avael has been invited to speak before senior executives of Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government Saturday at Lake Tahoe. Avael, a 1991 graduate of the school, is joining fellow alumni for the school's 20th anniversary reunion.
The university has asked him to address the subject, "Can There Be Progress Without Conflict?" Avael will also participate in round table discussions today and Saturday on topics that include ethics in American government, impact of federal trends on state and local government, and successful strategies for redevelopment.
It must be getting close to Christmas. The 16th Annual MARC Christmas Tree Sale and Rundraiser begins the day after Thanksgiving, Nov. 26. The tree lot and plant store will be extended to 9am- 9pm seven days a week until all the trees are sold. Last year, 2000 trees were sold. All the action will be at the Old Harris School on the corner of Margaret and Southard Streets.
