The Tampa Bay area's Jimmy Griswold will make his debut appearance at the Parrot tonight and tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday, February 8-9, 10-2. He has toured with the original Drifters and has opened for Ronnie Earl, George Thorogood, Dave Mason and others.
The Parrot's Valentine's Poetry Reading will be this Sunday night, February 10, at 8 o'clock. Featured poet will be Ray McNiece. He has earned a national reputation as a poet and performer over the past 10 years through his solo theatre pieces, his captaining of 2 National Poetry Slam Championship teams, his "edutaining" children's shows and workshops, and his yearly country-wide tours of performance poems, stories and songs.
On Wednesday night, the bar will be dedicated to a party to raise money to support Beth Bevenour's 1,350 walk from Key West to Philadelphia to raise money and awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. Beth's sister has MS and her treatments cost $1000 per month.
NEW YORK TRUMPET MAN KEN FRADLEY will be the featured guest with the Key West Reggae Party at Virgilio's tonight, Friday, February 8, 10pm. He has played with and arranged for Kid Creole and the Coconuts, U-2 (the War album), Buster Poindexter, Blondie, Mel Torme and others.
