THE SCHOONER WHARF BAR will be rocking all weekend. Tonight, Friday, January 11, the red-hot Danny Morris (left) and his band will be on stage 7-midnight. One critic said: "Danny Morris is one of the few guitarists who synthesizes surf and blues guitar a guitar lover's head trip." The popular Prime Movers (below) take over on Saturday night, January 12, 7-midnight. This band does it all pop, soul, funk, rock and jazz. You may have seen Valerie Ridenour's review of this band here in KWTN last week.
Many local musicians will appear at a concert this Mopnday, January 14, to help cover medical expenses for musician Flip Ferrari. The event kicks off at 4pm at Tiki Beach (formerly Boston Billy's on Charles Street, between Duval and Telegraph Lane) .
Flip was injured in a fall while adjusting lighting in a local club.
Flip, a popular bass player, sound tech, and computer guru, required surgery to insert a steel rod in his severely broken leg. He will be unable to work or even get around for several months. Driving is far in the future.
Flip has a nine year old son. With the prospect of no income at all, there is a huge need. Flip has played or done sound for every benefit held here for a long time. It is our turn to help him.
You will be royally entertained by The Funky Beans, The Prime Movers, Strip Club, Barry Cuda, The M&Ms, The Gary Chase Band, Bo Fodor, The Sundogs, Christopher "Little Boy" Flowers, Ernest "Hebrew" Edwards, Paris, and of course Flip's band-mates Jack Nasty, Craig Eubanks, and Pete Frazier.
Lots of great prizes will be raffled.
Check out our fantastic and generous entertainers and help a great guy.
