Holiday Parade Route | |||

For Sunday's Holiday Parade, Key West police will be closing the parade route at 6:15 p.m.: Truman Avenue from White Street, turning north onto Duval Street and ending at Eaton Street. The side streets along the parade route will be barricaded. Simonton Street will be closed at 2 p.m. between Virginia Street and Truman Avenue for setting up the reviewing stand and bleachers. All streets will be reopened at 9 p.m. For the parade lineup beginning at 4:15 p.m., Key West police will be closing Truman Avenue between Eisenhower and White Street. They will also block off the streets surrounding Bayview Park, plus part of Leon Street. | |||
Lighted Boat Parade Set For December 15 | |||

The 11th annual Schooner Wharf Bar & Captain Morgan Lighted Boat Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 15 at 8 p.m. in the Key West Bight and Harbor. Cash awards and prizes total $11,400 and there will be 12 awards. The entry fee is $25. Interested captains should call Evalena or Shiree at 292-3773 or 292-9520 for information. The captains meeting is set for Friday, December 14 at 8 p.m. | |||
Dinghy Race Saturday | |||

The Jolly Roger Dinghy Race is set for tomorrow, Saturday, December 1, in front of the Schooner Wharf Bar at the Key West Bight. This all-in-fun race is sponsored and organized by the Key West Sailing Club and the Schooner Wharf Bar. The race is open to small boats of all designs dinghies, sunfish, anything under 18-feet with a sail. There will be three categories: JY15, Sunfish and other sailing dinghies. The race starts at 1 p.m. Captains meeting at 11:30 a.m. on race day. Info: Call Evalena at 292-3773. There is no admission fee to watch the race, but proceeds from a raffle will benefit the Key West Sailing Club's Youth Program. | |||
