Original Blues Brothers At the Parrot Saturday

DID DAN AKROYD INVENT THE BLUES BROTHERS? No. He was inspired by the celebratd Canadian blues artists, the Downchild Blues Band. Downchild will be back in town tomorrow night, Saturday, August 4, 10-2, at the Green Parrot Bar. This is the real thing.



Hot Music Week At the Schooner

IF YOU LIKE BLUES GUITAR, you'll be in heeaven this week at the Schooner Wharf Bar. Tonight and tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday, August 3-4, Michael Locke (pictured above right) and the Repeat Offenders return to the Wharf, 7-Midnight. They've opened shows on both ends of the country for The Fabulous Thunderbirds, B.B. King, Coco Montoya, Johnny Nitro and others. This Wednesday and Thursday, the fantastic Danny Morris Band returns. Here's what one music critic said: "Danny Morris has taken a blues background, tossed in `60s surf guitar and garage band rock, along with a touch of this and a little of that to create a unique and appealing sound."



Peter Diamond At Sunday Showcase

Larry Smith will be showcasing singer Peter Diamond at this week's Sunday Showcase, August 5 at 10 p.m., in The Galley at the Pier House. Diamond will be presenting a variety of jazz tunes and standards. Saxophonist Rick "Hollywood" Thompson will be joining Smith and Diamond.
