New Orleans Bluesman Mem Shannon At Parrot

THE WORKING MAN'S BLUES— New Orleans blues guirarist, songwriter and singer Mem Shannon returns to the Green Parrot stage tonight, Friday, June 15, 10-2. Among Mem's acclaimed gigs was the Muddy Waters Tribute at the Kennedy Center, where he shared the stage with Gregg Allman, Buddy Guy, Johm Hiatt and other legends. He has also played the Kansas City Jazz & Blues Festival, New York's Bottom Line, Hong Kong's Great Eagle Hotel/House of Blues promotion, and, of course, the New Orleans Jazz Festival.



Summer Solstice Party Next Saturday

The fourth annual Summer Solstice Reggae Jam will be presented at Mallory Square next Saturday evening, June 23, by the Cultural Preservation Society— the people who bring you the nightly Sunset Celebration. The event, which will benefit the Bahama Village Children's Music Program, will feature music by the Key West Reggae All Stars, as well as food, beverages, arts and crafts. Admission is free.

After 22 years of rockin' the rock, popular drummer Skipper Kripitz is heading out to northern California to see if the pastures are any greener. But he's playing one more time— this Saturday night, June 16, at the Green Parrot Bar, 10-2. He'll be playing with friends like Lisa Soto, Mark Hamza, Marty Stonely, Wayne Hammond and some surprise guests.
