Jazz Festival Continues Tonight, Saturday At Fort Zachary Taylor

The Key West International Jazz Festival continues tonight and tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday, June 8-9. The unique venue: Fort Zachary Taylor. Start time: after sunset.

Headlining the show tonight, Friday, will be the Straker Steel Pan Jazz Band from Trinidad— a four-time winner of that country's National Steel Pan Classical and Jazz Competition.

Drummer Matthew Watson's new band, Matthew 6:33, will also entertain. You may know Watson from his days with the "Key West Soul Party" or, currently, with "Vital."

Also on tonight's musical menu: Debra & Patrick, Paris and Christine Naughton.

Tomorrow night, Saturday: Franko Richmond & the Latin Jazz Trio, singer Shaun Booker, Peter Diamond and Marilyn Holderfield.

The festival benefits non-profit organizations serving Bahama Village.
