Minimal Reggatta Set For Sun. May 24

BUILD IT AND IT WILL FLOAT. MAYBE. The Tenth Annual Minimal Regatta is set for Sunday, May 27, at the Schooner Wharf Bar. This is the zaniest regatta you'll ever see— because the construction of the participating vessels is limited to one sheet of plywood, two 2x4s, duct tape and a handful of fasteners. Oysters Fantastic Band Back At Schooner Wharf

THE OYSTERS— They swear they're from Ft. Myers, but they've become one of the most popular bands in Key West. Fans say they're like an unplugged concert of all the top bands. They'll be at the Schooner Wharf Bar tonight and tomorrow night, May 11-12, 7 'til Midnight.

Kathleen Peace Will be Showcase Star Sunday

Singer Kathleen Peace will be Larry Smith's guest at his Sunday Showcase this week at the Pier House Galley, May 13, 10 p.m. She specializes in jazz and blues, but she started as a "chick singer" in a rock band in the 70s.

Season Finale For Paradise Big Band

The Paradise Big Band will play it's last concert of the season this Sunday, May 13, at the San Carlos Institute, 7 p.m. The 17-member jazz and swing orchestra will be joined by two special guests: trumpet player Jerry Seeco and trombonist Joe Dallas Sr. A sell-out is predicted. Tickets $15 in advance at MacArthur Music or $20 at the door.
