Legendary Survivors Will Reunite At Cayo Carnival

Well-known in Key West as the Locals Party of the Year, Reef Relief's annual food and music festival, Cayo Carnival, is set for tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 18, at East Martello garden, 4 p.m. until midnight.

Now in its 14th year, Cayo Carnival 2000 raises funds to support Reef Relief, the long-standing grassroots environmental organization dedicated to protecting coral reefs.

This year's entertainment promises something for everyone and includes Latin salsa from Caribe, high-powered reggae from Inner Revolution, the popular Regulators, and as a special treat, the reunion of the Survivors, Key West's legendary home town band.

Thirty of Key West's best restaurants will be serving up portions of their mouth-watering specialties.

Cayo Carnivale will also feature a Kid's Korner of games and activities for the whole family from 4 p.m. until dusk, and the biggest raffle of the year with scores of fabulous prizes.

Free transportation from designated locations around the island will be provided by the Conch Tour Train and Old Town Trolley.

Admission will be $15 at the gate with advance tickets available for $10 prior to the day of the event. Info: 294-3100.




Michael Locke Back At Schooner Wharf

Michael Locke & The Repeat Offenders, an electric blues band, is back at the Schooner Wharf Bar this weekend— tonight and tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday, NOv. 17-18, 7-midnight. They've opened shows on both ends of the country for such artists as the Fabulous Thunderbirds, B.B. King and Johnny Nitro.



Pocket Change At The Green Parrot

One of Florida's most energetic, funkiest, and exciting bands, Pocket Change, makes their way back to the Green Parrot Bar, tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 18, at 10 o'clock. Pocket Change puts on one high-energy show, playing hits by Confunkshun, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, the Isley Brothers, and many more R&B, funk, and soul hits of the 70s. These guys are regularly scheduled at the House of Blues in Orlando and Myrtle Beach.
