Fantasy Fest Week at the Green Parrot kicks off this weekend with the popular DEADBEATS on stage both tonight and tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 20-21, 10-2. On Monday night, Oct. 23, the Cincinnati-based powerhouse KELLY RICHY BAND makes its debut at the Parrot. Critics have hailed Richey as "Jimi Hendrix trapped in a woman's body with Janis Joplin screaming to get out."
On Wednesday night, Oct. 25, FATHEAD returns to the Parrot, 10-2. Here's what the critics say aobut this band: "Fathead is a driving force, some sort of cosmic entity, a Battlestar Galactica-like black hole, sucking everybody and everything into its spiral belly button and then collapsing on it."
ALTERED EGO, a band on the creative edge of music culture, will be at the Bull this Wednesday, Oct. 25, 9-2. Something different for Fantasy Fest week.
When the OYSTERS FANTASTIC BAND was at the Schooner Wharf Bar last May, they rocked the house. So proprietor Evalena is bringing them in for two weekends in a row. This week they'll be at the Schooner Wharf tonight and tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 20-21, 7 p.m. `til Midnight. These guys are hot sort of like an "unplugged" concert of all your favorite bands.
The PT Founders Fabulous Funtastic Review, Monday evening, Oct. 23, under the Big Top at Atlantic Shores resort, will give amateur performers an opportunity to showcase their talent before an audience of locals, island visitors and a prestigious panel of judges.
Carnival games start at 5:30 p.m. Showtime at 8. Tickets are $10 and $50 (VIP tables). Proceeds benefit the Founders Society of the Tennessee Williams Fine Arts Center.
