You'll have an opportunity to see and hear some of the candidates running for State and County offices this Wednesday, Sept. 27, 7 p.m. on Channel 16. The event is being sponsored by the League of Women Voters. Offices featured during this forum are County Commission, Mosquito Control Board, Sheriff, Tax Collector, Clerk of the Court and State Representative. Most of the candidates will be facing off in the general election on Nov. 7. But Sonny McCoy and Sullins Stuart will be involved in a Republican runoff election on Oct. 3.
This forum will be rebroadcast on Friday, Sept. 29 and Monday, Oct. 2, 5-7 p.m.
The Official Conch Republic Phone Book invites you to take a ride in a hot air balloon this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23-24, at the Hampton Inn on North Roosevelt Boulevard. Tickets are $10 per person with proceeds benefiting Sunrise Rotary and Take Stock In Children Scholarship Fund. Rides are dependent on weather conditions. Tentative times for the rises are 8-10 a.m. and 6-8 p.m.
