Sally Lewis Protests Use Of Her Name In Ingram Ad

Lewis: "The Ad Is Deceptive. I Have Not Endorsed Ingram"

Former City Commissioner Sally Lewis has issued a statement protesting the use of her name in a political ad that appeared Thursday promoting the candidacy of Michael Ingram for the District 1 City Commission seat.

She called the ad "deceptive."

The fullpage ad, which appeared on the back cover of Morning Star, touted Ingram's involvement in the Custom House's building committee. In the same ad, Lewis' letter to the Key West Citizen is quoted, praising the restoration project.

"My letter did not mention Michael Ingram and I was surprised to see my name and words used in a deceptive manner," she said.

"I have not endorsed Michael Ingram's candidacy."

In fact, Lewis is a supporter of Tom Oosterhoudt, Ingram's opponent.
